The Geek VersionI always wanted to be Princess Leia or Wonder Woman growing up. As a child I ran around the playground with my imaginary lasso and dressed as a galactic princess for Halloween. I read Issac Asimov, Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes, Shakespeare, and J. R. R. Tolkien in my teenage years. My love of fantasy, science-fiction, and mysteries probably led to the fact I turned out like Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds with the internet and a computer as my tools.
In true geek fashion, I met the man of my dreams at a Lord of the Rings concert at Dragon Con, a sci-fi/fantasy convention in Atlanta. Together we love going to Disney, cosplaying Star Wars’ Jedis, and exploring small towns. I’ve won a few teaching awards and I enjoy developing new classes. I currently teach about social media, entertainment marketing, pop culture, and marketing consulting. My passion is bringing the real-world into the classroom. I am comfortable behind a mic and learning to be comfortable in front of a camera. Through podcasting and participating in panels at conventions, I discovered I enjoy moderating panels and interviewing people. We all have stories to tell about our journeys and helping others tell theirs is a new passion for me. My favorite way to relax is sitting on my back deck sipping some Jameson’s and Ginger with my husband. |
Life is about the journey not the destination.
