Welcome to Geek Meets Social - Episode 1 available on Podbean, and coming soon to Stitcher, Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify and more. This week I talk about sushi at Disney Springs and the Momentum Planner as well as book, podcast, and binge-watching suggestions.
We visited one of my favorite restaurants, Morimoto Asia. I’ve had the pleasure of eating in two of Morimoto’s restaurants - you may remember him from the Iron Chef shows in Japan and US. If you are in Orlando and you love sushi, try Morimoto Asia - and get the ribs appetizer - they are amazing too.
I’m also reading a book about the Disney Imagineers - The Imagineering Way - It was published back in 2003 and you can only find it used, but it is a great book to be able to read a section when you have only a few minutes here and there. It helps to remind me there is creativity in me waiting to spring forth. If only I can find the time. The planner I talked about was the Momentum Planner from Productive Flourishing. You can find their Productivity Jumpstarter and Action Item catcher free at this link. It’s helping me prioritize while also writing down the items that often distract me from the big picture of the day. I wanted to suggest a podcast I just started to listen to - The Misfits Guide to Writing Indie Romance is co-hosted by two amazing women, Eliza Peake and Adrienne Bell. Their podcast runs about 30 minutes each week and they have 60 episodes. They cover a variety of topics, but the episode I just listened to was all about Time Management. Gaming is definitely one of the ways I destress and this week it is all about Emoji Blitz Facebook has released some new tools for public figures and celebrities to connect with their fans - find out more here. I just binged on Amazon Prime - the BBC’s Agatha Christie’s The ABC Murders with John Malkovich as Hercule Poirot and Rupert Grint (From the Harry Potter movies) as the new Inspector Crome. I enjoyed it - but it was classic Masterpiece Theater Mysteries from my childhood on PBS. IMBD link That’s it for now - I promise to report back next week on how my planning is going plus have you some more recommendations so you can live the geeky life! Take Care - and go be social and geeky!
